The Landeswohlfahrtsverband (LWV) Hessen has launched a seven-month pilot project with Intric's sovereign AI platform, spanning multiple departments.
Pilot Project in Social Administration
LWV Hessen is the supra-local provider of integration assistance and social welfare in Hessen, Germany. It finances support for sick, disabled, and socially disadvantaged individuals in the areas of housing, employment, and daily structure. As an integration office, it also promotes the participation of severely disabled people in working life. In addition, it provides benefits under the Social Compensation Act (SGB XIV) for victims of war, violence, and vaccine injury.
LWV operates special needs schools and interdisciplinary early counselling centres, and is the sole shareholder of ANLEI-Service GmbH and Vitos gGmbH — the largest provider of outpatient, partial inpatient, and inpatient treatment for people with mental illness in Hessen. LWV is funded through membership contributions, state allocations, and its own revenues.
The pilot project grants approximately 50 employees access to Intric for seven months. The evaluated use cases focus on accessing internal data via AI assistants, creating administrative documents, and facilitating knowledge sharing among LWV Hessen staff. The rollout is coordinated by LWV's IT and Digitalization department, led by Stefan Schmalz.
AI in public administration does not fail due to technology — it fails due to acceptance. We don't want to impose yet another tool on our colleagues, but rather offer genuine relief and support. With Intric, we believe we have found a partner for the first time that enables both — full data control and a product that fits real working life.

Infrastructure that meets the sensitivity of the data
LWV Hessen's pilot project extends Intric's German presence — from district and municipal administrations into the social sector, a domain characterised by the personal sensitivity of every case handled.
Case processing in social administration allows for discretionary judgment within legal frameworks. Behind every case is a person. The judgment of the caseworkers is the core of this work — and that is precisely what will not be delegated to AI. What sovereign AI can do is relieve the burden of everything surrounding that judgment: preparing files, creating documents, researching precedents. That is exactly what this pilot project puts to the test — in a public administration that holds some of the most sensitive personal data the German state possesses.
