Step by step—an implementation model for practice
The implementation process followed a clearly structured, multi-stage model: after an orientation phase with two test licenses for the responsible specialist team, a pilot project began that ran for several months and involved all departments of the administration. In each department, an AI pilot was appointed as a decentralized point of contact—a model that will continue in ongoing day-to-day operations. The experiences gathered were fed directly into further developing how the tool is used. Since 1 June 2026, the full-scale rollout has been underway; briefings and training sessions for all employees complement the implementation.
Sovereign AI with manageable effort—also for smaller municipalities
For the city of Espelkamp, the decisive factor was not only the platform’s technical sovereignty, but also its usability under the real-world conditions of a smaller municipality: limited staffing capacity, tight budgets, and no dedicated AI specialist team. Intric offers far more than a simple chatbot—the platform makes it possible to create, configure, and manage custom AI assistants without requiring extensive IT infrastructure or specialized personnel.
